on being human
after which I took a step back
Smacked myself around with enlightenment
Gained some wisdom
And was lonely in it
People say I am hard on myself
and I am
Because I think somehow I should be above it
Should be better at being in it
Should know myself more by now
Every once in awhile I have a moment
where I let myself be human
And it's not quite as lonely
even though I'm in the dark

I love it.
A resounding "uh huh!"
The level of maturity and insight that you display in your posts is remarkable, even more so knowing how relatively young you are.
Great job.
Any chance this becomes a song?
You've inspired me to write a haiku. Maybe a dirty limerick.
Well done.
Thanks lovelies!
Dr. Ken - I am going to your blog right now to see the fruit of such labors...I love me a dirty haiku!
I love it. I love how thoughful and thought provoking you are.
Lovely and honest.
thumbs up!
isn't it strange that we can see ourselves in others? wherein someone we scarcely know can say something you feel you feel alone? and connect you. to them. and to your self.
ta!
Lisa and Heather - an honor, coming from the two of you.
